The Badge is a crime drama television series starring Jack McFarland as Chuck Rafferty, a hard-boiled detective.
During Jack's premiere party, the posters erroneously print "The Vadge" with the tagline "Go deep inside a hidden world that few dare to enter."[1][2]

During the eighth season, Jack goes to an audition, at Karen's persuasion, for the bit part Squealing Queen #3 who only has one line ("Eek. You dropped your gun"). However, the casting directors take notice of Jack's personality similar to that of the lead character and immediately cast him in the role.[3]

Rafferty is a womanizing, "straight, angry cop with a drinking problem who beats on his wife". He has been described as "a devastated narcissist careening toward a dismal future," which according to the director reflects Jack in real life. During the premiere party, Jack learns that his voiced was dubbed on the show.
